NEW LEGISLATION !

With new legislation in the Northern Territory, Gaming applications such as new approvals and increases of gaming levels now require the production of Community Impact Analysis (CIA) report. These reports have been in place as standard requirements in many gaming jurisdictions around Australia since 1998. Our Firm has been compiling and publishing these reports on behalf of Licensee's for the past 6 years with 100% success rate. The similarity between the Northern Territory Community Impact Analysis (CIA) required by The Racing, Gaming and Licensing Division (RGL) and the Queensland Community Impact Statement (CIS) required by the Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation (QOGR) is marked and in essence is the same social profiling protocol followed in many gaming jurisdictions in Australia and indeed worldwide.

Darveniza Barron Wood & Associates is Australia's largest Government Licensing Consultancy and one of the most respected firms in Queensland and Northern Australia who professionally and efficiently compile Community Impact Analysis Reports. Our firm has recognised achievements in compiling gaming applications and CIS's (QLD), which have acquired and maintained recognition by the Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation (QOGR) and approvals by the Gaming Commission. With Offices in Cairns and soon to be Darwin, our team of expert consultants can manage and conduct your gaming application requirements with dedication, speed and cost effectiveness.

SO WHAT IS A CIA ?

A Community Impact Analysis demands the qualification of social scientists to validly and reliably assess the social and economic impact that a proposed licence may have on a determined community. Our firm employs two full-time senior social scientists and a team of psychology and business undergraduates /postgraduates, who have the knowledge, experience, research skills, statistical understanding and capability to compile and publish a CIA. The CIA is a large report, involving the assessment of impact that a gaming application may have on the community via numerable sources of demographic data, site-profiling, determining disadvantage and the state of the local economy, criminal statistics, tourism populations, population projections and the concentration of gaming machines. The CIA also requires our staff to consult with the Local Council requirements and attend to issues in compliance with the Fire Services Act and the Building Act according to The Racing, Gaming and Licensing Division (RGL) consultation requirements.

Our qualified researchers are able to complete a CIA quickly and efficiently so that the application can be quickly assessed. Our success in efficiently completing successful applications and Community Impact Statements & Analysis's lies in the fact that our firm is a multidisciplinary team; our staff qualified in a variety of tertiary disciplines including Law, Psychology, Social Research, Statistics, Tourism and Business. It is these qualifications coupled with our experience and knowledge of the industry and current legislation, which has propelled our reputation as the leading experts in government licensing.
